My "I" is constantly changing (perhaps this is merely AD/HD): overdetermined nexus of cultural forces emanating from several continents: skeptical of all Truths and seeker of the truth: iconoclast by enculturation, brain chemistry, and, perhaps, choice: perpetually perplexed, particularly about why we exist/ as the manifestation of overdetermined forces whose existence (and nature) is not as solid (or simplistic) as we would like.

Yes, Virginia, Microsoft Vista has fleas

In conversations about the software industry with my more tech saavy (read geek) friends, I've felt like one of the last supporters of Microsoft on the planet. No more.

Microsoft has crossed the Rubicon. Hopefully, Linux and Mac OS will meet them in battle and finally end the monopoly because it has become abundantly clear that something is seriously wrong in Redmond and they don't really care about their customers any more. Nevertheless, I suspect they are pleasing themselves by creating pretty interfaces with fleas below the surface, having a good time with the free soda machines and games galore, diverting large amounts of human resources to making sure customers "activate" and "reactivate" their already purchased copies of Windows and other software and otherwise spending quite lavishly the shareholders' wealth, while frittering away what little good will the company has left. Here is Christopher Null's (Yahoo Tech) take on Vista (you may want to read the comments, as well):
